To manage media, such as photos and videos, collected from Shopper Approved surveys, you can use the Media Moderation tool. You can access this by navigating to the top-left menu of your Shopper Approved dashboard, then selecting Media and Media Moderation.
From this page, you will be able to view and moderate photos and videos collected from your Shopper Approved surveys.
Viewing Media
By default, you can view media collected over the past 12 months. To see media from other timeframes, use the calendar icon under Date Added. You can select options such as Last Week, Last Month, or even set a custom date range.
From the menu on the left, you can filter by Media Type. By default, all media will be displayed. You can use this option to view only images, videos, animated gifs, or any combination of the three. Each media thumbnail also includes an icon in the bottom left corner indicating its type, such as Photo or Video.
You can also use the left-hand menu to filter media by Status, such as pending, approved, or rejected. Additionally, you can filter by Collection Source to see where the media was collected from, for example, Shopper Approved surveys or imported product review images. You can also filter by Tags that you have created, or by Publish Destination to view media that has been publicly published and is visible on your certificate page or widgets.
Moderating Media
Each photo or video includes three icons in the top right corner: a thumbs up, a trash icon, and a flag.
The thumbs up icon allows you to approve media. When you click it, a pop-up will appear where you can choose where the media should be displayed. You can keep the media private, or have it appear on your certificate page and/or on your site widgets. You can also choose whether to display the associated star rating from the review. To hide the rating, simply deselect the toggle.
When you're done, select the Publish button.
The trash icon allows you to reject media. When clicked, a pop-up will appear asking you to confirm your decision. Please note that rejected media will be permanently deleted after 30 days. You can use the Rejected toggle in the left-hand menu to view only media that has been rejected.
The flag icon allows you to report any inappropriate media to Shopper Approved. When clicked, a pop-up will appear asking you to select a reason for flagging the media. Once you have chosen a reason, click Confirm to submit your request. The flagged media will then be sent to our team for further review.
Clicking the Details button on any piece of media allows you to view and manage it in more depth. From this page, you can:
View the media
See the product associated with the media
Write a public company response to the review linked to the media
View the review associated with the media
Photos will display the respective product review, while video reviews will display the associated store review
Add tags to the media
Choose where the media is displayed
Download the media
Using Tags
The Media Moderation tool allows you to create and add tags to your media. Tags can be used to identify which photos and videos you want to use for different marketing campaigns.
To create a new tag, go to the Details page for any photo or video, click the Create a tag button, type the name of your tag, and press Enter.
Once a tag is created, you can apply it to the Details page of any photo or video. The tag will appear in the Tags dropdown, and you can use it to filter media on the Media Moderation page for items with that specific tag.
Approval Settings
Click Approval Settings on the right-hand side of the Media Moderation page to customize how your media is approved. You can choose to have new photos or videos automatically approved if desired. When you are finished, click Apply Settings to save your changes.
YouTube Syndication
Click the Enable YouTube Posting button if you have a YouTube channel and want to enable syndication for your video reviews. To do this, you will need to authorize Shopper Approved to post videos to your channel. Once authorized, you can publish any videos you approve to YouTube. Once published to YouTube, your video reviews can appear in Google search results.
