What is Domain Verification?
Domain Verification is a feature within Shopper Approved that will allow us to verify that the Shopper Approved reviews are being controlled by the correct site.
What does Domain Verification do?
Currently, this feature will verify in your Shopper Approved dashboard that your domain has been verified. In the future, we will look into additional features such as badges that show your domain is verified and more.
How do I set up Domain Verification?
There are 4 options available to verify your domain:
DNS Verification
Step 1: Log into your domain provider's management console
Step 2: Navigate to the DNS Setting for your domain
Step 3: Add a new TXT record with the specific name and value details from your dashboard
Step 4: Save changes and return to the page in your dashboard
Step 5: Click the "Verify" button to complete verificationFile Upload to domain
Step 1: Download the HTML verification file provided in your dashboardStep 2: Upload the file to the root directory of your domain's website.
Step 3: Once the file is uploaded, return to the page in your dashboardStep 4: Click the "Verify" button to complete the verification.
Meta Tag Verification
Step 1: Add the meta tag from your dashboard to the<head>section of your domain's homepage
Step 2: Save the changes and ensure the tag is live on your website.Step 3: Click the "Verify" button to complete the verification.
Branded Email Verification
Step 1: Create an email from an address associated with your domain (e.g., [email protected])
Step 2: The subject of the email should be: "Domain Verification Request"
Step 3: Include the information from your dashboard in the body of the emailStep 4: Send email to [email protected]
Step 4: Once we receive the email, we will verify your domain and notify you via email
