The Options tab within a campaign is where you will determine the behavior of your notifications on the page. The behavior of all the notifications within a campaign will be the same, so if you want a notification to have different behavior, you will need to create a new campaign for it.

Positioning

  1. Select which corner of the screen you would like notifications to display on a computer.

  2. Select whether you want notifications to display at the top or the bottom of the page on a mobile device.

    • You’ll notice these position options are very basic. If there is a conflict in the position where you want the notifications (for example: you want them to pop in the lower left-hand corner of the site, but you have a chat button already there), our developers can move the notification up on the site for you so that it’s still in the bottom left corner, but above the conflict.

Here is an example of a site that chose bottom left for the notification position, but our developers moved the notification up above the Trust Guard seal:

Appearance

The Appearance section allows you to choose to Loop the notifications, hide them on either mobile or desktop, and allow visitors to close the notifications.

For reviews and conversions, Shopper Approved does not recommend looping the Social Evidence campaigns. Doing so means the notifications will start over on each new page the visitor goes to. The visitor will end up seeing the same review or conversion on every page they visit. Looping might make sense for Visitor Count, announcements, etc. If you do enable this option, then the system will let you choose to trigger looping only if the number of notifications exceeds the amount you determine.

The notifications are enabled on both desktop and mobile by default, but if you want a mobile-only campaign or a desktop-only campaign, you have that option. You will usually want visitors to be able to close a notification, but you can disable this option if for some reason you don’t want them to.

Timing

The timing section lets you set the delay between when a visitor comes to your site, and when they are shown the first notification, choose either a set time or a random amount of time before the next notification shows, and choose how long you want each notification to stay on the page.

Prioritization

Here you can determine the rate at which each notification is shown. For example, if you look at the screenshot below, Conversions are set to display 60% of the time.

Now, imagine if you had a 100-sided die. Before Evidence selects a notification type to display, it rolls this 100-sided die. If the die were to come up with any number between 1 and 60, Evidence would display a Conversion notification.

Using the same logic above, here is when the other notifications would display:

  • Visitors - When the die comes up with any number between 61 and 80.

  • Announcements - When the die comes up with any number between 81 and 90.

  • Offers - When the die comes up with any number between 91 and 100.

Remember this setting is only for the notifications within the particular campaign. If there is more than one campaign running on the same page, the Evidence software will “zipper” or alternate them, meaning it will show Campaign 1, then Campaign 2, campaign 3, back to campaign 1, and so on.

Boomerang Tab

The Options Tab is also where you can enable the Boomerang tab. See here on how to enable the Boomerang tab: https://help.shopperapproved.com/en/articles/9692771-social-evidence-boomerang-tab.
