Review Badges are the next generation of Milestone Awards, offering significantly more customization, flexibility, and display options than ever before! They are a powerful way to showcase your reputation and build trust with shoppers.
Who Can Display Review Badges?
Any client that has collected 50 or more 5-star reviews is eligible to display a Review Badge.
What's New?
Review Badges offer a wide range of new customization options that weren't available with Milestone Awards, including:
Multiple badge designs and styles
Transparent background options
Custom sizing controls
Custom colors and gradients
Text color customization
The choice to display 5-star Ratings, Overall Rating, or Total Review count, or create a “Badge Lock-up” that displays all 3 simultaneously
The ability to create and display multiple badge designs across your website
Downloadable badges for use in email campaigns, marketing materials, social media, and other promotional assets
What Hasn't Changed?
Although Review Badges offer many new capabilities, some core functionality remains the same as the previous Milestone Awards::
Badges automatically update as new milestones are reached
Clicking a badge opens your Shopper Approved certificate page
If you like your previous design, it’s still available to you
Your achievements continue to be displayed and updated without any manual maintenance
How to Customize Your Review Badges
To customize your Review Badges in your Shopper Approved dashboard, navigate to:
Widgets → Store Ratings→ Review Badges
From there, you can edit your already live widget(s), or create a new one.
Match Your Brand
Review Badges allow you to customize colors, gradients, fonts, text colors, and sizing so they seamlessly match your brand's design and style.
To help you get started, we've created an Inspiration Gallery featuring beautifully designed badge examples. When you select a design from the gallery, the badge is automatically pre-populated with the colors, fonts, and customization settings shown in the example, making it easy to achieve a polished look in just a few clicks.
You can also start from scratch by choosing the “All Badge Styles” option.
Style Options
We currently offer 3 main styles with multiple design variations within each style family. New styles will be added to your dashboard throughout the year, so keep an eye out for those! The current styles are Laurel, Clean, and Medallion.
Customizations Available in the Badge Builder
Font color
Star color
Display 5-star rating, overall rating, total review count, or any combination of those
Dark theme
Remove star display
Remove Shopper Approved branding (Laurel and Medallion styles)
Laurel color (Laurel style)
Remove “Read what customers are saying” text (Clean style)
Medallion inner and outer circle with solid and gradient options (Medallion style)
Ribbon color (Medallion style)
Once you’ve made your customizations, click the “Size & name your widget” button. This allows you to then customize the size of your widget to fit your space.
Create a Custom Badge Lock-Up
Review Badges can be combined into a custom badge lock-up that highlights the trust metrics most important to your business.
Choose up to three badge types:
5-Star Review Count
Total Review Count
Average Star Rating
Mix and match these badges to create a trust story that best represents your brand and achievements.
Display Your Badges Anywhere
Review Badges can be displayed in multiple locations throughout your site. You can create unlimited badges if you want to use different designs in different locations to better match the surrounding content and layout. You also are able to download a SVG or PNG of your badge to use in email campaigns, marketing materials, social media, and other promotional assets.
Once you’ve named and saved a review badge, these options will be available.
Note: If the embed code for a badge is already on your site, editing that badge in the dashboard will update it live on your site once saved.
