Collecting Reviews With Shopper Approved
Reviews collected with Shopper Approved are eligible to be displayed in organic search results through Shopper Approved widgets and in paid ads once Google requirements have been met. It’s important to actively collect reviews with Shopper Approved to help boost your online presence and reputation. You can read more about the importance of collecting reviews in this article. Below is an outline of the different locations your reviews can be displayed online.
Store Reviews
Paid Ads:
Before you can see stars in merchant ads, Google has specific requirements that need to be met. You can read more about Google's requirements in this article. Below is an example of what reviews look like in merchant ads once Google requirements have been met.
Google Store Ratings Page (SRP):
You can check your Google Store Rating Page using the link below. Please remember to add your domain name to the end of the URL:
Note: When checking your SRP make sure you're viewing the correct country for your business. For example, this link needs to be updated to "US" instead of "AU".
Your SRP will show the Google-qualified reviews you've collected along with your overall store rating and total review count. The store rating and review count on your SRP should match what's displayed in your merchant ads.
Here is an example of what the SRP page looks like when Google requirements have been met. Notice how the store rating and review count match what's displayed in the merchant ad above.
If you haven't met Google requirements the SRP page will indicate that you have not received a rating yet. However, your SRP should still show reviews once you've collected about 50 Google-qualified reviews.
Shopper Approved Certificate Page (organic):
As a client of Shopper Approved, we host your reviews on your own certificate page which can be organically searched for in Google. By searching in Google with "yourdomain reviews" or similar, your certificate result should appear on the search engine results page. The star rating and review count reflect your review collection with Shopper Approved.
You can check your Shopper Approved certificate page using the link below. Please remember to add your domain name to the end of the URL:
When you visit the certificate page, your store and product reviews are available to view. You can hand-select featured store reviews from your Shopper Approved account. These hand-picked reviews will be displayed first. This page also includes a link to your website to drive more traffic to your site.
Store Review Page on your site (organic):
By typing in "yourdomain reviews" or similar in Google, you may also get a search result for a dedicated reviews page that's hosted on your site.
After clicking on the search result, you will be taken to the dedicated reviews page on your site which helps to drive traffic directly to your site.
If you don't have a dedicated page on your site to host your reviews we highly recommend adding one. Once created, you can include the Shopper Approved Review Page widget to display the reviews you're collecting. Here are instructions on how to create a review page widget.
Rotating Widget (on your site):
If you would like to feature 5-star reviews, you can add a store review rotating widget. You can display up to 5 reviews at a time either horizontally or vertically. Here are instructions on how to create a rotating widget.
Product Reviews
Product Listing Ads (PLAs):
Before you can see stars in PLAs, Google has specific requirements that need to be met. You can read more about Google's requirements in this article.
To find a Product Listing Ad on Google, type in "yourdomain with product name" or "product name" in Google. You can also do this in the Shopping tab. You can see the overall star rating and review count for that particular product. If you click on that ad, you will be taken to that product page on your site.
If you are collecting product reviews with us, you can find your product review count in your Shopper Approved account by going to (top-left menu > Product Reviews> Product List). By default, the product list will display all products that have collected reviews.
Here you will see the number of reviews collected per product. Let's imagine this domain has met the 50 overall product reviews requirement. In the image below, any product that has received a product review would be eligible for stars to show in their Product Listing Ads.
Certificate Page - Product Reviews (Organic):
Just like the store reviews, your Shopper Approved certificate shows all your product reviews collected with Shopper Approved.
Product Page Widget (on your site):
If you are collecting product reviews with Shopper Approved, you will see the overall star rating and review count near the name of your product on that particular product page.
If you click on the review count you will be navigated to the actual product reviews. These are the same reviews that live on your certificate page but here they are specific to this product.
Note: If you have not yet collected reviews for a particular product, you can display store reviews as a fallback until you have received product reviews.
Product Page Widget via Schema (organic):
The product page widget includes schema markup to help your product reviews appear in organic search results. Please review this article for further information about Shopper Approved schema.
