Postscript - Sending post-fulfillment surveys

Shopper Approved sends post-fulfillment survey invitation emails on behalf of merchants by default. With our Postscript integration, merchants can choose to take over the sending of these surveys via SMS from their own Postscript account — using their brand voice and existing subscriber data — while Shopper Approved continues to power the survey itself and record the responses.

How the Integration Works

When a customer becomes eligible for a post-fulfillment survey, Shopper Approved sends a custom event to Postscript. This event carries the unique, customer-specific survey link. The merchant's Postscript automation listens for this event and sends a custom text populated with those event variables.

Why this matters

The survey link in each event is unique to the customer and order. The link is what ties a click back to the right feedback record in Shopper Approved. If this link is hardcoded or stripped, no responses will be recorded and the integration will not function.

Enable Postscript to send the survey link

Follow the instructions here to integrate your Postscript account with Shopper Approved. When signed in to your Shopper Approved account, head to the Postscript landing page in our App Marketplace. Enable Postscript to manage the Post Fulfillment surveys:

Important Notes:

  • If you enable Postscript to Manage Post Fulfillment Surveys, Shopper Approved will stop sending post-fulfillment survey requests to new customers from that point forward.

  • You must create the post-fulfillment survey request automation before enabling Postscript to manage the survey. See our guide here.

  • Because Postscript is SMS only, enabling Postscript to manage the survey means no email will be sent to your customers by Shopper Approved. They will receive a text only.

  • Only one party can be in charge of sending the survey at a time. If Shopper Approved or any other app has been set to manage the post-fulfillment survey, then Postscript will not send it.

  • If there are any pending surveys, they will be sent according to which party was in charge at the time the reviewer became eligible to receive a post-fulfillment survey.

  • If your Shopper Approved account is integrated with Postscript but you want Shopper Approved to manage the post-fulfillment surveys, you can still use Postscript with Shopper Approved in other ways- like responding automatically to critical reviews. Click here for some example messages.
