How to test the Shopify custom pixel is working correctly

After placing the custom pixel on Shopify, place a test order to verify the data is coming through correctly.

After you have placed the code via the custom pixel on Shopify, you will want to place a test order to verify all is working as expected.

We will collect the customer email address for the sole purpose of sending a post purchase email asking for a review.

Follow these steps to place a test order:

  1. If you have not yet enabled the “email all” setting, navigate to Setup > Seller Ratings within your Shopper Approved dashboard to turn on the "email all" setting. This setting must be on in order for the custom pixel to work properly.

    Note: we recommend that your privacy policy states that you may share customer email addresses with a third party.



  2. Place a purchase on your website just like a customer would.

  3. Once you’ve placed your order, log in to your Shopper Approved account > go to Seller Ratings > Manage Seller Ratings.


  4. Click the blue Filter Menu.

  5. Select “Pending Full Survey” under Display Reviews by.



    You should see the information for the order you just placed such as order number, products purchased (if you are collecting product reviews) and it will have the date the follow-up email will do out.
