Where to find the Trust Stack
The Trust Stack is located within your Shopper Approved dashboard by clicking (the menu icon in the top left corner > Widgets > Store Ratings > Trust Stack).
Points of Interest
1) Trust Stack Presets
Presets for the Trust Stack are located in the upper left of the editor. You can copy the preset you’re currently viewing to create a new version with similar settings. From here, you can also remove a preset, revert it to the default settings, or create an entirely new preset using the default configuration.
You can switch between editing the Top Bar and Bottom Bar using the options located beneath the preset selector dropdown.
2) Widget Code & Preview
To access the Trust Stack code snippet, click the “Get Widget Code” button in the upper right corner.
Below this button, you can toggle between desktop and mobile views to preview how the Trust Stack will appear across different devices.
Customizing the Trust Stack
Below are the available customization options for both the Upper Bar and Lower Bar of the Trust Stack. Check out our style guide for styling options.
Top Bar
Top Bar Content
The Top Bar is partially customizable and consists of three sections. Section 1 always displays the "Rated Excellent" message. Section 2 automatically shows your overall store rating and total review count. Section 3 allows you to choose from a selection of predefined messaging pulled from your survey responses, or you can enter your own custom message.
Top Bar Sections
Section 1: Displays the "Rated Excellent" message. Note: If the overall rating is below 3.9, this section will be hidden, and only Sections 2 and 3 will display.
Section 2: Displays your overall store rating, star rating, and total review count. This section can be clickable, allowing you to enter a custom URL to link to any page of your choice. We also provide the option to link directly to your Certificate page. Selecting "None" will disable the hyperlink. You also have the option to hide the review count until you reach a specific number of reviews of your choosing (between 50 and 500).
Section 3: Highlights an additional trust message about your store, such as the percentage of customers who would recommend your business or how your shipping is rated. You can choose from preset messages like "Made in the USA," "Free shipping!" or "Satisfaction guaranteed!" You can also enter your own custom benefit statement of 30 characters or less.
Top Bar Style
Here, you can customize the colors, borders, dividers, and text sizes for the Trust Stack, including the content options described in the previous section.
Customization Options
Mobile vs. Desktop Settings: Highlighted in red, this option allows you to choose whether changes made apply to both the desktop and mobile versions of the Trust Stack. If you unlink the settings, you can customize the desktop and mobile versions independently.
Background Color: Highlighted in green, update the Trust Stack's background color using the color picker, or enter a specific hex code if you have one.
Border Style & Color: Highlighted in blue, the Trust Stack includes a subtle drop shadow by default, which can be adjusted or removed entirely.
Section Divider Style & Color: Highlighted in yellow, choose how sections are separated - vertical pipes, circles, diamonds, or no dividers at all.
Text & Star Size: Highlighted in orange, adjust the text size and color to match your design. By default, the star size in the middle section scales with the text size, but this can be unlinked for independent control.
Top Bar Size
Adjust the size of the bar itself, both on desktop and mobile versions.
Size Settings
This section includes two sliders that control the height of the Trust Bar widget, with separate settings available for desktop and mobile. The widget's width is automatically set to fill its parent container.
Note: Changes made in this section require you to re-add the widget code for the updates to appear on your live site. Settings in the previous two sections can be adjusted at any time, and those changes will automatically reflect on your site once the cache clears (typically overnight).
Bottom Bar
Bottom Bar Customization
The Bottom Bar offers additional flexibility and customization options. You can choose to display a single high-impact message, up to three benefit statements, or a customer review. When displaying a customer review, you can choose whether to include the author’s name. Similar to the Upper Bar, the Bottom Bar includes controls for Content, Style, and Size.
Bottom Bar Content Options
Choose one of the following layouts:
Quote / Review: Add a customer quote or paste text directly from a review. Including the author’s name is optional.
Benefit Statements: Select from messaging options similar to those available in the third section of the Upper Bar. This layout also allows you to create a custom message.
High-Impact Statement: Display one concise, custom message designed to highlight a key benefit or unique selling point and encourage shoppers to convert.
Bottom Bar Style & Size
Just like the Upper Bar, you can customize the style and size of the Bottom Bar. Desktop and mobile settings can be linked together or adjusted independently, depending on your preference.
