Shopper Approved has created a plugin for Magento stores that can facilitate generating a product feed for use when collecting reviews. This plugin can be found at https://commercemarketplace.adobe.com/shopperapproved-module-feed.html

How to use the plugin:

drop down (just to the right of your name)

    1. Scroll down to the Domain Information

    3. In your Magento Store, navigate to Stores. Under Settings, select Configuration

NOTE: Based on which version of Magento you have installed, the Configuration menu may be located in different locations. (Magento 2.4.6. shown)

    4. Click on the Shopper Approved module and select Settings

2. Plugin Features
Currently, our Magento plugin offers you the ability to generate a product feed from Magento that the Shopper Approved system can then use to collect and display product reviews for your site.

To set up the product feed generation, please follow the steps below:

  • Product Feed Mapping

This is how you tell the Shopper Approved module which fields should be mapped to the product feed that the module will generate. The module defaults to the most commonly used items, but you can select any field from your products table to link to in the feed.

  • Product Grouping Method

    1. Not Combined - Will not include the Product ID of the parent “configurable product” in the Parent ID column, i.e. Parent ID column will always be left blank.

    2. Combined - Will include the Product ID of the parent “configurable product” in the Parent ID column of the feed

  • Product ID - The unique identifier for each product, should match the product ID in your Google Merchant Center feed [required]

  • Product Name - The unique name for each product [required]

  • Brand/Manufacturer - The manufacturer or brand name of each product [required]

  • MPN - The manufacturer part number associated with your products [optional]

  • GTIN - The Global Trade Item Number/UPC associated with each of your products [optional]

Fields the Product Feed generates:

  • Product ID

  • SKU

  • Name

  • Brand

  • MPN

  • GTIN

  • URL

  • Image URL

  • Price

  • Parent ID (left blank if Product Grouping Method is set to Not Combined)

An example of a feed file:

  • Feed Generation Settings

    1. Feed Batch Size
This is where you identify how big of a batch size you want to run while generating your feed. Smaller feeds can be set lower, larger feeds will finish faster if this number is set higher. The batch size controls the amount of products that are pulled from Magento at once before being added to the feed file.

Please note: Larger batch sizes may affect site performance

    2. Feed Generation Frequency
Select how often you want your feed to regenerate. Typically, every 7 days is the most common

    3. Feed Generation Start Time
Select a time when your site is the least busy as feed generation can take some time. Once the feed starts generating, it will run until it’s complete. Larger feeds may take several hours to complete.

    4. BE SURE TO SAVE any changes you make before generating a feed.

    5. Press Generate Feed to get it started

Once a feed has started, it will continue to generate until it’s complete. You can close the module at any time and it will continue running. You can also return to the module at any time to see the progress of your feed. As long as you see Feed Currently Being Generated, the feed is actively being created. There’s also a status bar and a counter beneath the status bar to show how many products have been added to the feed file.

  • When it completes, the module will upload the Feed URL to Shopper Approved and Shopper Approved will be notified that there’s a new feed to be ingested. You also will receive an email as well when it completes to let you know it finished

    1. Feed File URL
This URL is a link to the product feed file the module has created.
It will be sent to Shopper Approved to ingest into your Shopper Approved account

    2. Security Token This is a unique token to this URL. It can be changed by pressing Regenerate Security Token, however pressing this will also regenerate the feed file as well and will also re-notify Shopper Approved of the new feed url when it completes

    3. Feed Last Generated This is the date of the last time the feed was generated by the Shopper Approved module

    4. Product Count This will indicate how many products are in the product feed that was generated.

    5. Force Feed Generation This will force a feed to regenerate immediately. This is handy to use if you have updated products in your feed and you want them to be included in your product feed

  • Example of email you’ll receive anytime your product feed is updated

Once you’ve created your first product feed, the support team at Shopper Approved will be notified. They will then ingest the product feed into your Shopper Approved account and get it ready to work with your product surveys. From there, Shopper Approved will download and ingest your feed file every 7 days from the time it’s set up at Shopper Approved. This way Shopper Approved is able to keep a current version of your products in your Shopper Approved account.
